This lecture will examine various film interpretations of the Vietnam War and their impact on the public perception of the conflict. We will explore ifferent perspectives and ideologies portrayed in such as “Apocalypse Now” (1979), “The Deer Hunter” (1978), “Platoon” (1986), “Good Morning Vietnam” (1987), and “Full Metal Jacket” (1987), and “First Blood” (1982), how they have shaped public understanding of the war, how these movies have helped to preserve the memory of the Vietnam War and its aftermath, and the challenges of accurately depicting historical events on film and the importance of responsible representation in media.
